i had to give my man pryslezz a shout for a couple reasons.
I produced most of his first album, was his Resident Advisor in the dorms of UC (big LOL on thaaaat shit), and it’s amazing to see him keep going further. I’m really happy to be a part of his record. Dude is on some ‘that’s-my-brother’ status.

Also, this beat he chose for him and slum village. I actually made it in spring of 2006, and it was my Dilla Dedication beat…so to have slum village ON it is like a dream fully realized. Definitely an inspiration booster.

For anyoone that remembers TopCats in the early 2000’s, it was the hip-hop SPOT for Cincinnati. Think the Shelter in 8 mile. Every wednesday, we had these lethal-ass battles and tours coming thru all the time (Big Daddy Kane, Black Eye’d Peas, KRS-One, Atmosphere, waaaay more i can’t even think of).

This Saturday, they’ll be having a reunion, feat. J. Rawls and Lone Catalysts, myself, Skandal, and the Animal Crackers… we might even see how bad we suck at battling now.

If you ever used to go to TopCats in the day, swing out. If not, come out and catch the vibe of yesteryear lol.

The Address is 2820 short vine st. (across from UC). Doors @ 9. 18 and up. I can’t imagine it costing any more than 5 bucks (maybe less).

my top 3 events of 08 all hit in a 12 hour span:

November 4th – 9pm
Officially my last day at my job. Was there for 5 and a half years. Got to hang out one last time with all my friends there. I made a promise to myself when i started the job that i would ONLY leave it for music, not for another job. And i finally got my wish.
then…

November 4th – 11pm
I got my second wish. Everyone probably knows what this is. But as i was kicking it with some co-workers, the TVs were on in the background..and then the text messages started coming in…Obama won…we watched the speech.

Amazing evening.

November 5th – 6am
No sleep, watched coverage all night at co-workers spot. Got dropped off at the airport to headed to NY, but had a layover in Chicago. Got to buy a Chicago tribune fresh off the press with the Obama Victory… Looking at it right now lol. Flew to NY and could feel the vibe in the air, in the subway, everywhere. This is the trip that i needed.

So everything in that 12 hours determined the next set of years in my life, both from a personal and worldly perspective.

What’s goin on…

Nudy invited me to swing thru here and blog so i came to overstay my welcome real quick.

I dont have a whole lotta fly shit to blog about, so i will say this:

Me and Nudy used to go to high school up at Trotwood Madison back in the day, so the connection rolls deep lol.

Nudy used to have all the bootleg CDs ahead of time (before mp3s… yes, we’re old). I got to hear “like water for chocolate” like 2 weeks early (again, before “internet leaks”… we’re OLD) and that was one of the highlights of senior year.
